What is Alli?

In what for many was a surprise, but welcome relief, the US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) have formally endorsed the first weight loss drug to be available over the counter without prescription, named “alli”. The release of this anti-obesity wonder drug – the Alli Diet Pill – may well have come at the right time with recent reports showing a growing problem in both the European and US markets (with Europe particularly disappointing of late).

While the US has been troubled by obesity for some time, with some 65 percent of adults overweight or obese, the problem is starting to take hold in Europe. While weight loss pills have attracted some negative comment in the past, the fact the FDA have approved the product offers a great deal of support to many.

The Alli diet pill itself is a reduced strength version of the prescription weight loss drug Xenical (also known as Orlistat) which has an impressive safety record, and encouraging clinical trial results. In the original trials of Xenical it was shown that when used in conjunction with a traditional weight loss program , the treatment resulted in an average loss of 12.4 pounds over 6 months (the placebo patients only losing half that amount).

What are Alli Diet Pills

Even though many potential customers may see the alli pill as a quick path to weight loss , it works better along side traditional weight loss programs such as light exercise, and careful dieting. There can be some slightly uncomfortable side effects if the customer continues with a high fat diet while using alli, with increased flatulence and rectal discharge (very soft stools) as the drug acts to reduce the amount of fat absorbed by the body.

While Xenical was originally formulated by Roche, worldwide pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithkline acquired the US rights some 12 months ago, and are behind the release of “alli”. They have a massive marketing machine behind them, and alli is expected to become one of the latest wonder drugs in the US market. As the market for weight control and weight loss products continues to grow, the fact that customers will not need to arrange a potentially embarrassing visit to the Doctor prior to receiving the drug may prove a big attraction for many.

While it is still early days for alli, the signs are encouraging and it has prompted a lot of comment on and off the internet. Obesity and overweight problems are for many a personal issue, and the fact that you can buy alli pills over the counter is a great attraction.

While Alli itself is a fairly new entrant to the weight loss pills market, because of the favourable ruling by the American Food and Drugs Administration, the drug is widely available to the general public via a number of different outlets. Even though the drug is based upon Orlistat (which is not available over the counter), the reduced dosage and detailed clinical trials have allowed the unusual ruling by the FDA.The FDA have been very careful in approving Alli for over the counter purchase, due in main to the chequered past of slimming pills and the potential dangers. Alli (also known as Xenical and Orlistat) has been thoroughly tested and is a lower dosage medication based upon Orlistat and Xenical. While Xenical is a very successful prescription weight loss pill, the higher dosage (when compared to Alli) did increase the impact of the general side effects.

You Are Now Able to Buy Alli Pills :-

Online

Due to the worldwide demand for slimming pills, Alli has been embraced by customers all around the world. Websites have been materialising on the internet on a daily basis, and the medication is taking the slimming world by storm.

However, historically the slimming market has been notorious for black market / copy cat drugs, which are often placebos (i.e. serve no purpose at all). This has been a constant criticism of the slimming industry, and online outlets are the easiest way for these fraudsters to operate – quick, payment online and very difficult to trace.

It is strongly advised that you only purchase medication (any type) from reputable websites, brand names, and companies which you have actually heard of. It is also advisable to check the internet for feedback on a certain website if you are uncertain.

While Orlistat (now marketed as Alli) was originally developed by Roche, the US rights were recently acquired by GlaxoSmithkline and they have developed a website which covers the effects of Alli in detail. The weight loss pills can also be purchased direct from the website at :-

Buy Alli at Retail Outlets

For those not able to access the internet, or looking to maybe discuss the issues with a registered pharmacist, Alli can also be bought over the counter in the US from all reputable pharmacies. While there is no requirement for a prescription and the pills can be bought over the counter, for those unsure, it is probably best to discuss the issues and potential side effects so that all aspects are fully understood.

In general, the number of outlets selling Alli will continue to grow and grow, with online purchases forecast set to grow at a phenomenal pace. As with all online purchases, you should check who you are buying from and if the price looks too good to be true, it probably is!

To get the best out of the treatment it is essential that you follow the instructions to the letter. A reduction in the fat content of your diet will also result in a more comfortable course of treatment, reducing the impact of the few side effects associated with the treatment.

Is it for me?

As the new “super drug” Alli hits the stores in the US, many people are asking if the treatment is right for them, and what exactly can it do. It seems that the fact the drug is now available Over The Counter (OTC) has opened up a market perhaps far greater than GlaxoSmithkline had original thought. It is not only obesity sufferers are looking towards the treatment, but people who are “borderline” obese, with the potential for future problems. We may be entering a phase of preventative medicine rather than reactive medicine, but is it right and will it have the same impact?

Are Alli Tablets Right For Me?

Pharmacies up and down the US have reported large sales of Alli, perhaps more to do with the hype which has been in the press for the last 3 or 4 months than anything else. There have been some major sales pushes in the US especially, playing on the fact that it is the only OTC treatment for obesity, and the relatively cheap price of the drugs. Available in 60g dosage, 50 capsules have been priced at $50, 90 capsules at $60 and a 120 capsule pack at $69.99. It seems that the distributors are targeting the long term market by using such a pricing structure.

What Can Alli Do For You?

The positive, and negative side effects of Alli have been well covered in both the medical and traditional press. On the positive side the treatment has been shown to have a substantial impact on weight loss, almost immediately. Human trials showed a significant weight loss above and beyond that of traditional diets, which is in the main due to the immediate 30% reduction in the intake of fatty food elements into the body. By reducing the initial intake the body needs to draw more energy from the existing fat content in the body, thereby instigating an immediate reduction even if no change to the users exercise or dietary regimes.

However, it has been stated by many that the drug should be considered as only part of a long term goal for obesity suffers. It is strongly advised that a change in dietary and exercise habits should be instigated as soon as possible, with many Alli users expected to receive a natural boost from a greater self esteem. Unless significant changes are made to the users long term habits, there is the potential for weight gain as soon as the treatment ends (although there has been no official guidance as to any potential longer term side effects).

On the negative side, many media companies and internet sites have picked up on the rather embarrassing side effects. These include oily stools, increased flatulence and the possibility of sudden and uncontrollable bowel movements in the early days of use. However, the impact of these side effects can easily be reduced by a reduction in the intake of fatty content in the users diet. Official guidance suggests a fatty intake of no more than 15g per meal in order avoid the majority of the side effects.

While these side effects are unfortunate and can be very embarrassing for users, they will be more predominant at the beginning of the treatment and should reduce naturally (and even more so with a change in the users lifestyle).

As the popularity of the treatment becomes more and more apparent it seems that many of the medical and popular press have missed what may yet turn out to be one of the larger impacts which Alli can have on much of the population – a rise in the “feel good factor”. It has been common knowledge in the medical world that one of the most expensive and potentially harmful conditions for the public can be depression.

Depression is often linked to a personal “feel good factor” and how the person feels about themselves. This vicious circle of depression, comfort eating and a reluctance to integrate with the rest of society has often been at the heart of many obesity suffers. Breaking this cycle of depression, increased weight gain and further depression is vital not only to the suffer, but also the many health organisations and economies around the world. This condition costs millions and millions of dollars around the world in lost working hours, and emergency medical treatments – but perhaps the tide is turning?

Are There Any Medical Guidelines?

While there are no strict medical guidelines, GlaxoSmithkline have advised that Alli should only be used by people who have a Body Mass Index of 25 and upwards. This is the calculation which involves taking the persons weight and height and calculating their BMI. Officially a BMI of 30 and over is classified as obese, but there is some gain to be made for people with a BMI of between 25 and 30.

As highlighted earlier in this article it is also advisable to consider Alli in conjunction with a long term change in the users lifestyle. Seen by many as a “wonder drug”, GlaxoSmithkline are keen to emphasise the importance of increased exercise and healthier dietary habits in order to receive the best long term benefits.

Conclusion

While we have seen all of the headlines of late regarding high sales and Alli literally “flying off the shelves”, there is a growing awareness of the greater benefits of Alli in relation to breaking the cycle of depression and over eating. This is perhaps something that will interest worldwide governments once the hype and smoke has cleared after the launch.

Even though we have seen many weight loss “treatments” come and go, with many shown to be ineffective or potentially harmful in the past, Alli really is different. This none surgical treatment physically stops the body form producing the enzymes which allow fat to be absorbed into the body, an effect which will be turned off as soon as treatment is stopped.

It is perhaps this fact more than any other which prompted the US Food and Drugs Administration to approve the treatment for OTC distribution. It will be interesting to see whether the reported side effects have any impact on longer term sales, although it seems that for many, the benefits of weight loss far out weigh these side effects.

How To Use Alli?

While Alli (Orlistat) continues to grow in popularity in the slimming world, with many predicting a worldwide surge in demand, many potential users are beginning to ask detailed questions such as how often the weight loss pills should be taken, etc. There are a number of issues which should be clarified, prior to a person beginning the treatment. These include :-

Age Limit

The FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) have approved Alli for use by people 18 years and older, and is targeted at the obese / overweight market. Under no circumstances should the pills be administered to people under 18 years of age.

Dosage

While Alli is in effect a reduced level dosage of the successful prescription weight loss pill Orlistat, it is essential that users stick to the recommended measurements. Sold in 60 mg capsules, it is advised that one capsule be taken 3 times a day with meals containing a fat content. The specificed dosage figures should not be abused.

Dietary Requirements

It is essential that Alli is not used in conjunction with a non-fat diet, as their will be no benefit to the user, and should instead be used in tandem with a reduced fat diet. The drug is essentially used to reduce the fatty acid intake of the body, by controlling the production of enzymes in the intestine.

Side Effects

While there may be some side effects to Alli , where users persist in continuing with a high fat diet, these effects are easy to control. The drug is shown to reduce fat intake by some 25%, although due to the fact that some of the fatty content is not processed and remains untreated in the body, it will be excreted by the user.

In low or reduced fat diets this is not a major concern, however if a high fat diet is followed then the increased “wastage” fatty content may cause irregular bowel movement, and unusual stools – all harmless, but potentially uncomfortable. It is recommended that users reduce their dietary fatty content to no more that 15 grams per meal.

Vitamin Deficiency

While Alli has been specially formulated to only act against fat related dietary elements, there are some fatty based vitamins which may not be absorbed by the body due to restricted enzyme production. These vitamins are still essential to any balanced diet, and it is recommend that a daily intake of vitamins is followed in conjunction with the Alli pills.

Additional Assistance To Alli

Even though the Alli weight loss pills are structured in such a way as to ensure that weight loss is effective from day one, it is also recommended that users also take on board a more active exercise regime, as well as a more appropriate diet. It is not worth taking the drug for a period of time, not changing your dietary habits, and increasing in weight after finishing the drug.

While there is no strict time limit for use of Alli, any treatment for similar situations is not a long term fix, and requires a change of lifestyle to ensure long term success. Alli is more than capable of inducing a dramatic weight loss, and while it is a major part, it is only one part of a long term dietary goal.

Conclusion

Alli is very easy to use, and the dosage, advice, etc are all clearly marked on the container. Even though the drug is not under prescription, it is essential that users adhere to the guidelines and advice, to ensure the best results.

Side Effects of Alli?

As the clamor for Alli continues to grow, there is some concern that many people are forgetting the basic of using any medical treatment, whether prescribed or not. Non more so than the slimming industry is the rush for new products more headstrong, with many customers not even bothering to read the instructions fully. As with ANY type of medical treatment, it is essential that they understand how the product works, any potential side effects and treat the safety advice with the respect it deserves.

To get the best out of any treatment, you need to understand and respect what is happening inside your body. A number of factors need to be considered when buying and using Alli, including :-

Safety Information

It is vital that you purchase your pills from a well known and trusted stockist, whether this be online or a retail outlet. The slimming industry is riddled with “get rich quick” schemes, and copy cat medicines which have duped millions of dollars out of unsuspecting customers. As a rule of thumb, if the price looks “too good to be true” it probably is – do you homework first.

Dosage

While Alli is a reduced dosage variation of the prescription drug Orlistat , all customers need to respect the dosage advice. Under use of the treatment will show no meaningful effect, although abuse of the dosage recommendation may result in unnecessary increased discomfort.

Weight loss

As the clamour for the stick like figure continues for many ladies and gentleman around the world (most often in the modelling industry) it is essential that Alli is used for valid weight loss conditions. It is not a way for wafer thin models to stay thin, and should only be taken where weight loss is required.

While the drug has been tested vigorously, and is backed by the GlaxoSmithkline pharmaceutical giant, there may be situations whereby unrecorded side effects may occur e.g. when other medicine is being taken at the same time, or there is an existing undiagnosed condition. Any reactions or strange side effects should be reported immediately.

The potentially uncomfortable, but not serious side effects which may occur with Alli have been well documented. They relate specifically to the drugs ability to supress the absorption of fatty acids into the body, and the disposal of unused dietary elements. Some users may experience some of the following side effects :-

Oily stools. As the Alli weight loss pill reduces the production of an enzyme in the intestine, which converts fatty dietary elements into fatty acids, some fat from digested food may not be processed. As a result the body will find a way to release basic fat content from the body, usually excreted naturally. Due to the nature of the left over substances, stools can often appear oily and emit an unfortunate odour.

Flatulence. Another means by which the body has been known to release unwanted waste is by flatulence. While this is a totally natural and harmless release, it can prove potentially embarrassing and uncomfortable as the customer may not have full control of their bowels at all times.

Vitamin deficiency. Even though Alli is specifically structured to take out the fatty content of dietary intake, some vitamins may consist of fatty content, which may not be absorbed into the body. It is therefore recommended that while using taking Alli, the user also takes a daily dose of vitamin tablets.

While the oily stools and flatulence are slightly unfortunate side effects, they can be controlled by reducing the dietary fat content to somewhere in the region of 15 grams per meal.

Conclusion

We are currently living in a world where over 65% percent of American adults are either overweight or clinically obese. The problem is now spreading quickly throughout the rest of the world, with both developing and developed countries showing increased obesity problems. Not only is this putting a massive strain on the medical profession, but there are increased health issues including possible heart attacks, diabetes, depression and bone / joint troubles.

While Alli will have an immediate impact on its own, it is strongly advised that people using the medication also reduce the fat content of their diet (thereby reducing the oily stools and flatulence issues), and take in more physical exercise. Not only will these changes impact on the weight and fitness of the person involved, they have been shown to improve their disposition and outlook on life.

Why Alli?

While there has been much media coverage about the FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) approval of Alli for over the counter sale in the US (with many other countries expected to follow the FDA’s lead, many people are starting to ask what exactly makes Alli different from other products on the market? Why is it being promoted so heavily? As the number of obese people continues to grown on a worldwide basis, the slimming market is becoming more and more competitive. While many of the products on the market do not deliver what they promise, there are many which do, but at a price – whether surgery or treatment with uncomfortable side effects.

Unlike many products currently on the market, Alli slimming pills only work in the digestive tract , which is the area where your body absorbs various aspects of the food which you eat. By only acting in this area, there are no side effects to for example your heart rate, brain activity, sleep patterns, nerves or your body clock.

The active ingredients in the pill allows you to control the production of enzymes in the intestine which are used to breakdown and convert food into fatty acids. By reducing the level of the enzyme in the intestine it is possible to directly reduce the amount of fatty acids absorbed. After the enzymes have absorbed as much material as possible, the remaining food elements are excreted as pure fat.

While many other weight loss products require medical supervision and medical advice, Alli has been proven to be safe and reliable, having been developed from a reduced dosage of the earlier prescription weight loss drug Orlistat. Clinical trials have shown the immediate impact upon the body mass index as soon as treatment begins, and while there are mild side effects, these are fully controllable.

Another vital benefit of Alli is the fact that the treatment only targets the fat content of food , and the absorption of fatty acids. Due to the direct influence on the level of a particular enzyme in the intestine, other food content such as carbohydrates and proteins will be untouched, and the levels absorbed not effected by taking Alli pills. This is a direct contradiction to many other slimming products which can suppress the intake of all food, thereby robbing the body not only of fatty content, but also vital carbohydrates and proteins – thereby directly effecting the person ability to work, exercise, etc.

Conclusion

The Alli Diet Pill is currently the only FDA approved slimming drug on offer without prescription, and as such is sure to be a hit worldwide in due course. The treatment has undergone many clinical trials, which have all highlighted the impact upon the user, and the small controllable side effects.

Millions of dollars have been invested into the treatment , and the specific nature of the medication allows the remainder of the digestive and body functions to carry on as normal. This is perhaps the most vital of the attractions of Alli, in an industry which has long fought against “miracle cures” which have often failed to deliver. FDA approval of this type of product is very rare, and you can guarantee that the treatment has undergone some of the most stringent tests available.

Cost of Weight Loss?

Many obese men and women go to different lengths in order to lose weight. The influx of diet pills and other invasive surgery methods has really paved a lot of options for those who consider taking off their unwanted pounds like a religious sacrifice. Before attempting to lose weight, you need to ask yourself a few questions and assess your situation. You need to ask one important question before you proceed:

Are You Serious About Losing Weight?

This is an important question you need to ask yourself because in the long run, this will lead to regrets or positive turns for you. Since you know that losing weight does not happen overnight, you need to sit down, relax and dwell on the question, “Are you serious about losing weight?”

With this in mind, you also need to know the extent you are willing to take in order take out a few pounds. This would be if you would rather do it the old fashioned way, with regular exercise and diet, or with the semi-modern way of taking medication. The other option would be the more high technology method of invasive surgery. You have three options. These options will either make you well and happy, or it may lead to serious regrets. It is your body, it is your decision.

Thus, there are also some questions you can ask your self along the process. Would you like to lose those unwanted pounds effectively but safely? Would you like to lose weight by means that can trigger 50% results? Would you rather take prescription diet pills or the ones you can avail over-the-counter? Are you willing to undergo a continuous lifestyle change and routine in order to make the task of losing weight happen?

If you gave your 51% up to 100% “yes” to these questions, you may tell yourself that you really are serious about losing weight. Moreover, the fact that you agree to the questions means that you are already prepared to the new over-the-counter diet pill, Alli, into consideration. This is because Alli is considered as the new trend in the current market for losing weight. It is basically intended for obese and overweight men and women who need to lose extra pounds because of serious weight-related diseases and sickness.

Alli is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline and has been approved by the FDA as an OTC diet pill. This is because Alli is the lower-dosage version of the prescription product, Xenical (Orlistat). The good thing about it is the fact that it is the reduced version of Xenical, which would be the greatest and most effective prescription diet pill in the market today.

Having the lower dosage and the capability to buy it over-the-counter is a very big convenience to anyone who rarely has the time to go back to your doctor just to renew the prescription he gave you. You can practically enter a pharmacy and purchase Alli.

As many already know, Alli is the only actual FDA approved OTC weight loss drug. It is an Orlistat containing capsule with a dosage of about 60 mg per capsule. The required usage for Alli would be to consume one capsule before every major meal. That would make it three tines a day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This makes Alli as more than just any other diet pill.

Alli actually has an innovative and up-to-date weight loss program that would definitely work with you as you attempt to take out those unwanted pounds. The best part would be the fact that Alli can help you lose weight 50% more than diet and exercise alone. The only commitment Alli needs from you would be change the way you eat and the lifestyle you maintain. Of course, you need to change this in order to promote an effective weight reduction ambiance.

Once you have accepted and adapted to this commitment, you can then focus on your healthy eating habits. You need to make this a habit, so that it can work to your advantage. This is why Alli combines it’s OTC, FDA approved weight loss capabilities with a much tailored support plan that will help you achieve a gradual and healthy weight loss program. By taking Alli; along with a low-fat reduced-calorie diet, you can actually lose 50% more weight that diet and exercise alone. Thus, instead of losing 10 pounds with pure diet and exercise, adding Alli to the routine will make you lose 15 pounds along the way.

This is mainly because Alli is a fat blocking diet pill that supposedly blocks the fat you consume by 25%. In you intestines, it is only typical that your enzymes are the ones who work to break down the fat from the foods being consumed by the body. These enzymes will break down the fat so that the fat will be absorbed and taken in by the body. This is where Alli works. It has an active ingredient that would attach itself onto several of your body’s enzymes and prevent them from digesting more than a quarter of the fat you have consumed. Since this undigested fat cannot be absorbed by your body, of course, it needs to get out of your system. This is how the undigested fat tends to make its way out of your body through your stool, instead of becoming calories. This is what others assume as the side effect of Alli. It is the actual undigested fat coming out of your body.

The thing with the FDA or Food and Drug Administration would be its approval to make Alli an OTC or over-the-counter weight loss product. This is a big thing because it is the only diet pill that was ever approved to go OTC. It makes Alli stand out and be very different from the weight loss dietary supplements that floods the market these days.

Its FDA approval alone makes it very apparent that Alli is not considered as a weight loss dietary supplement. It has been thoroughly tested and proven to work effectively and safely. It is best that Alli is used as detected because, as mentioned above, it does its work in side the digestive system. Other diet pills will meddle with either your heart or your brain. This is very dangerous and very lethal. One wrong turn and you won’t need to lose weight anymore. You won’t need to because you may end up in a cold casket. This is why it is best to check and verify what you will consume before you actually use it. Thus, Alli has a tailored online individual action plan which was developed by weight and nutrition management experts. These experts understand the challenges encountered by people who desire to lose weight more than anything. They also know the real deal about this and would definitely promote a safe program for weight reduction.

This makes Alli a very good option in losing weight. It is considered safe and effectively by a majority of obese and overweight men and women. Of course, a majority would be the women’s sector. Remember that losing weight is not just a matter of physical attributes. It is more of a lifestyle you need to work on and maintain. Once you make it a habit or a routine to live this healthy lifestyle, losing weight will never be a problem for you again. Do not think that that losing weight is a very difficult challenge to undertake. It may be very hard at first, but like other things in life, you learn to cope and resolve the issues on a given time.

There may simple reasons why you would like to lose weight, for others the reasons are heavier and more complex. The latter would pertain to serious diseases and sickness you may get from being overweight, especially obese. Obesity is very prevalent in this lifetime. More and more people are facing the dilemmas of obesity. Others say it is already a pandemic of this new generation. There are those who are obese out of hereditary reasons. A majority are obese because of the influx of goods and foods being manufactured. It is a fact that a lot foods being sold in the market, poses a health risk rather than showcasing a positive and healthy living. Junk foods, cigarettes, and alcohol are vices that may not contribute to the rate of obesity but it does add to serious health and weigh issues. There are those who choose to maintain a clean living type of lifestyle and are happy and contented with their figure and health. These people are the ones who are prone to live longer.

Alli is an OTC drug that does not require you to see a doctor because you don’t need a prescription. Although you don’t need it, it doesn’t mean that you can have your way with whatever you want to do with the drug. For best results, you should consult a doctor or a nutritionist. This way, you will be aware of the risks and consequences of the drug on your body. With the influx of weight reduction medicines and devices, always remember to keep your health on the top line. Make it a habit to value your health and your life.

What You Going to Lose?

There are many issues concerning the FDA’s newly approved diet pill. Alli, was granted an over-the-counter approval by the FDA as a treatment for obesity and other overweight issues. Amidst their approval, the FDA has emphasized that Alli should only be purchased by overweight adults and should be well combined with a low fat, reduced calorie diet, and regular exercise.Although many believe that GlaxoSmithKline’s Alli is a hot new item on the pharmaceutical shelves; many say that it is already old news, but somehow repackaged. This is because Alli is the half-dose version of Xenical, a prescription diet pill, which has been out in the market since the year 1999. Although Xenical has been out for some time now, it was said that it was never a blockbuster since then. It was only last 2000 when its sales reached its peak. The reason for this would be the fact that most obese adults were not satisfied with the small amount of weight they were able to lose. This is why they are saying that Xenical was not really able to reduce their weight that much, what more should they expect on a new diet pill that has half its dosage?

Alli, came as a surprise in the market because of its approval as an over the counter drug. More people with overweight issues have found it easier to purchase it because they don’t need to see a doctor to get a prescription.

Alli is indicated to reduce the actual amount of fat being absorbed by your body by about 25%. It is also indicated that you should consume a low fat and low calorie diet. This means that if you overdo your consumption of fat, embarrassing side effects will really haunt you. This would go with the fact that the more fat you consume, the more fat Alli will block from your body; and this will be eliminated the only way the body knows how, through your bowels. Thus, it will be like your ordinary bowels, when you are using Alli, you will experience frequent loose bowel movements, oily discharge and gas. If you consume more fat, imagine having these side effects double or triple in proportion.

Aside from this, Alli is also believed to block the absorption of certain vitamins. Actually, this is really a serious drawback. Blocking the absorption of vitamins will really increase your risk for certain diseases. It is indicated that Alli actually blocks the absorption of not just certain fat-soluble vitamins; it also blocks the essential fats. Of course, there’s a reason there are foods with fat. Somehow, our body would need it to survive.

Alli is also indicated to block the absorption of Vitamin D. This is a nutrient which health officials are suspecting that there is already a short supply of. Having insufficient vitamin D in your system can put you in great risk of having gum disease, diabetes, osteoporosis or even cancer. This actually contradicts the fact that you are taking the drug to relieve you of obesity; so as to relieve of the serious diseases that go with it. Hen you will face another problem which is from the drug that should supposedly resolve you from the same problem. Since health officials are saying the supply of vitamin D is running a short supply at the moment, you may even find it hard to supplement yourself with Vitamin D while you are taking Alli.

There was even an indication that the Consumer Group of Public Citizens has requested to ban the prescription drug Xenical. You can now add this though to the other diet pills that was already removed from the market due to unsafe risks on the body. This group is also thinking of requesting to ban the half-dosage counterpart of Xenical; which is Alli. This is for the reason that they believe the FDA missed out on the animal study conducted on Alli. The animal study showed that using Alli has caused some precancerous lesions in the colon. Even if the short term side effects would be the bowel movements and gas eruptions, they are more concerned about Alli’s long term effect on the body.

The FDA only suggested that people who are using Alli should really supplement themselves with multivitamins as a way to make up for the nutrients being blocked by the said drug.

Another concern about Alli or Xenical would be the effects it can give you when you mix it with other drugs. The FDA has warned the public about the potential risk of drug interactions. They indicated that people who are being treated for diabetes, thyroid disease or are taking blood-thinning medicines should not consider taking Alli immediately. Even if it is an over the counter diet pill. They should first consult their doctor about this. This is because this may cause a serious problem and may even be lethal. Thus, Alli is also not recommended for people who had an organ transplant.

Even the vice president of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare weight control division, Steven Burton, emphasized that Alli should not be taken by anyone who just want to cut down on their weight. Alli is intended for obese individuals and those that have diabetes, high blood and heart diseases that run in the family. Above all, Alli is only meant for the people who are very much committed to making dietary changes in their system. As probably mentioned before, losing weight is not just a matter of getting rid of the fats; you need to support it with a good healthy lifestyle. You need to be committed on the notion that you intend to lose weight because it is for your health and for your own good.

Hence, Science has really helped the lives of millions and billions of people. With the advent of new medicines and devices meant to save lives, there is really so much our generation should b thankful for. Science also has its stand on successful weight control measures.

There was a study about this conducted by the National Weight Control Registry. They were able to assess that the most successful weight reduction measure are not those who resorted to diet pills or those who even went far out and took invasive surgery. The people who were most successful in losing weight were the ones who kept things sensible and simple. Instead of taking diet pills, these people walk 1 hour everyday and follow a low fat diet but full of healthy and natural low calorie foods. This would be found in vegetables, fruits, beans and whole grains.

These people lost approximately 66 pounds and they were even to maintain this loss for over 6 years. Thus, this is why the National Weight registry indicated that the best way to lose weight would be to keep it natural and simple. It is the commitment you make to yourself, the lifestyle you set when you make this commitment that will really help you take out those unwanted pounds. If there were people who were able to do this, it only means that it is very much possible.

With regards to the oily discharge, sudden loose bowel movements and nutrient loss you can get from Alli, it is still your choice to take this alternative. As mentioned, it is the half dosage version of Xenical. This means that you also need to combine it with exercise and a good diet. Since the dosage is not that high, do not expect to lose weight in an instant. It’s a continuous process you can work on. The more that you make this as a routine; the more that your body will get used to this set up. It is still your body. Still, it is best to check with a doctor and a nutritionist. These people are trained and have the knowledge to help you regarding obesity issues.

As stated above, 2/3 of the American public is overweight. This means that there are more obese people in the world. Obesity has become a pandemic that needs to be resolved. This is also why there are a lot of diet pills being produced and sold in pharmacies. It is not indicated that these drugs are the only means to lose weight. There are also other ways. These drugs are just choices you can take. This is a good way top explore your options. If you would rather deal with the problem by going to invasive surgery, if you have the resources, then you have the right to do what you think is right.

Thus, not everyone can go to that extent, it’s just that a majority would rather take diet pills. There are many brands in the market. There are many choices out there. It is best that you research thoroughly, know the side effects and contraindications before you plunge into a commitment with any pill. Still, the best option would be to seek the advice of a professional.

Updates?

During the mid 90s, there was a so-called conference about the treatment of obesity and overweight concerns. This was during the approval of a drug called Redux or the Fenfluramine. It is an anti-suppressant drug that can be used with a much older drug called the phentermine. This Fen-Pen tandem was a favorite and a hit at that time. There were even doctors who wanted to set up their own weight-loss clinics and just focus on obesity issues; all because of these 2 drugs. They thought that the combination of the drug is the surest way to lose weight. This is when diet and exercise alone cannot do the trick. After a few months, it became a shocking discover that Redux or Fenfluramine can potentially cause lung and lethal heart damage to a person. This is why the drug was eventually pulled out from the market. After a decade, other drugs came out, but only guaranteed modest reduction of weight assurances. In fact, most of the side effects were rarely discussed openly.

It is a fact that more than 50% of the American population is obese or overweight. It is even very common to see them taking prescription drugs, just to have those excess weight removed. The only problem would be the fact that there are not so many articles that would talk about other weight loss diet pills in the market.

It is more like being treated as a common thing already. As if having obesity issues is the same with getting your period and going to the store to get tampons. Other believe that it may be due to the fact that obesity issues are too varied and numerous to tackle every drug that comes out in the market. With the rate of drugs coming out, no one can clearly say that all of it is safe to use. Others may claim to be safe and effective at the moment, but the long-term effect would really kill you. Another reason may be the fact that more people are more obsessed to lose weight, rather than try to find out more information about the drug they are taking or were prescribed. With the rampant cases of obesity, manufacturers only care to cater to strong demand; the effects are a secondary thing.

There are a lot of things that affect a person’s body mass. Neurochemical, genetic, social psychological, hormonal, and environmental among other factors are the ones that contribute to having excess weight. This is also the case when you take in medicines to help you resolve this problem. If you take a drug that could suppress your appetite, but you overeat even if you are not that hungry, out of routine, may pose a limited effect on your system already. This is also true when you take drugs that block the fats being absorbed by the body. It will not do anything if your diet is flooded with sugar, low fat and carbohydrates.

Recently, the press became very interested in Alli. This is because, the drug can supposedly resolve obesity issues, but can be bought over-the-counter of OTC. It was in the limelight because it seemed like a new thing. It is, actually. Alli is the over-the –counter version of Orlistat or Xenical. It supposedly blocks the absorption of fat in the intestines. Thus, it needs to be taken before every major meal that has fat, of course. This is because; the drug will not work if your diet doesn’t contain fat in it. Besides, almost every food in the contain fat these days. It is advisable to consume only a minimal amount of fat in your diet.

Contrary to speculations, Alli cannot work alone. You need to combine it with a good diet and exercise. This is since it is the reduced version of Orlistat. This only means that the dosage is half the total dosage of Orlistat or Xenical.

There was also another drug that came out in the market. It is called the Rimonabant or Acomplia. It is a drug that works by actually blocking the receptors in the brain that tells you how to view food. These brain receptors are similar to the ones that cause the “munchies” effect in marijuana or Mary Jane users.

Rimonabant is available in a lot of European countries. It was only last year when the Federal Advisory Committee motioned the disapproval of the drug in the US Market. This is because the drug has possibilities of leaving people very vulnerable to psychiatric and neurological problems and issues. It supposedly creates a high risk of suicidal cases. Thus, this factor was not even sensationalized; so as to promote the awareness of what it can do to your mental health.

There are also other prescription drugs for weight loss that suppresses and regulates you appetite by thoroughly altering the level of chemicals inside your brain. This would be drugs like Sibutramine or Meridia, Phentermine, Adipex and Ionamin among others. The issue lies on the fact that by altering the chemicals in ones brain, will it cause any long term or short term effect on a person? It is said that although they produce only a minimal assurance of weight loss, there are diseases that go with it. Meridia is said to cause hypertension, Alli and Xenical can cause vitamin deficiencies; and Phentermine can cause palpitations. Time can only tell if there are other side effects that may prove any of these to be lethal.

There is supposedly one way to have the risk factors of these drugs minimized. It is through prescriptions. These drugs need to be prescribed only for patients who are obese and are extremely overweight. This is along with people who have diseases like type 2 diabetes and hypertension in their family. Losing weight is the only thing they need to do so as to prevent them from having further complications because of such hereditary diseases.

There was even a study conducted that stated that women who los weight had a 40% up to 50% decrease from the death toll of those dying from obesity-related cancers. Thus, they also had a 30% up to 40% decline from the death toll of those dying from type 2 diabetes.

There were even guidelines issued by the NIH or National Institute of Health, which states that weight loss drugs should only be given or prescribed to people with a BMI or Body Mass Index of 30 or more. For cases with the diseases mentioned above, it should be prescribed or given to people with a BMI of 27 or more. Thus, if people with lower BMI use weight loss drugs, it will really pose risks rather than benefits for the user. This is not the case for over-the-counter-drugs. Of course, the type of person buying the drug OTC doesn’t need a prescription. This means that any person can buy it; whether that person is obese or not. The only thing to do for these cases is to create an awareness program. This should aim to inform majorities of people who desire to lose weight that BMI or Body Mass Index really count. That they should first consult with a good doctor. This is to avoid any untoward incident or problems that may arise in the future.

Thus, it’s true that drug therapy is the best when you combine it with a change in your lifestyle. In fact, last 2005, there was a study conducted by the New England Journal of Medicines that showed how after a year of treatment using Meridia; and combining it with a comprehensive program that counsels about the need for a low calorie diet and 30 minute daily exercise could successfully reduce your weight. This is apart from using Meridia alone. Exercise can be as simple as talking 30 minute brisk walks. It is very important to understand that by changing your lifestyle into something worthwhile and healthy, not only will you be able to lose weight; you will also shun your body away from certain diseases. Imagine the benefits your body can get when you stop drinking or taking junk food. Sometimes, even simple measures can mean a great deal of things.

With the growing number of Americans being obese, manufacturers are very eager to release drugs that will “supposedly” resolve this problem. This is when the intentions become clouded. Of course, it is more on the profit they can get already. There are also questions if obesity can be regarded as a disease? With the growing rate, as already mentioned above, obesity is really an epidemic already. This is not about the clothes anymore or the physical appearance, this is more about the diseases you may get from being obese or overweight. If you are still young, you may disregard or pretend that it’s not a big deal. It is a big deal. Having a heart disease or high blood pressure is not something you can disregard. That is, if you value your life.

It is stated that 2 out of 3 Americans are now overweight. This is why this guidebook is said to guarantee a decreased risk of cases like stroke, heart diseases and certain cancers among others. It is said that it contains tips on how to successfully lose weight, according to the studies conducted by the Harvard Medical School. It has an effective weigh loss regimen you can use.

Thus, with all the medicines and tools coming out that “guarantees” weight loss, it is now wonder why there is only limited news being broadcasted about these drugs. It seems that they all say the same thing. The best thing would be to consult a good doctor and practice a healthy lifestyle. With the help of a doctor, you will eventually find the drug that can work to your advantage.

Orlistat

Studies in the last 3 months have shown that, with the use of Orlistat, you lose an approximately 0.4 lbs of weight per week. Other diet pills will allow you to lose 0.5 lbs weight per week, but it would entail a week of reduced appetite. Orlistat, a component which can be found in both Xenical and Alli diet pills, prevents the actual absorption of about 1/3 of the dietary fat consumed by the body. The only difference between Xenical and Alli would be the fact that Alli is the reduced version of the other and that has been approved by the FDA as an over-the-counter drug. When using Alli, you need to combine it with proper diet and exercise. Alli alone cannot make you lose weight. Thus, as with he reports, the weight reduction is slow but not threatening to the body. Alli is taken before every major meal. This means that you need to take Alli 3x a day.

Like other medications, Orlistat can also give side effects. Xenical and Alli have varied side effects. The most common would be loose bowels, but a majority of people can tolerate this already. As for Alli, aside from loose bowel, you will also encounter farting sessions. You can resolve this pretty easily. You only need to reduce your fat intake. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you won’t be eating foods with fat. Of course, your diet would require you to have some fat. It is the excess fat that is being inhibited by Alli.

If you take in more fat, that is the only time you need to worry because, it will also increase the side effects. This means that you will have more sessions of loose bowels to think about.

Jehan Caliwara, a boutique manager, narrated that she used to doubt Alli’s capabilities before. She was very hesitant to take different diet pills because of the side effects it may have. She tries to struggle hard everyday to the fact that she was overweight. This really lowered her self esteem; which made her afraid to connect with other people. She seems to get intimidated easily. She tends to see things in a rather negative way. She tried seeing a shrink about it. She realized that her depressions were more on her head. She realized that she is not the only with overweight issues. When she started using Alli, because it became available over-the-counter, she tried hard to keep her hopes up. For the first few weks, nothing seemed to be going well; she wanted to stop taking the diet pill. Thus, when she found others on the net relating their experiences about the diet pills they are taking; she found out that this is just an initial thing. She continued with it, and she was glad she did. With exercise and diet tips she got from her friends online, she found herself losing weight. Although it wasn’t that much, for her it was the start. Right now, she is still taking Alli and she is very happy with the results. She has shared this with her friends on the net. They too are starting to with Alli already. From the negative effects on Jehan’ life, she is very hopeful that with the help of Alli, things will turn to a positive aspect now.

Another thing to consider about Orlistat is that it lowers the absorption of certain vitamins and minerals like Vitamins D and E; as well as beta carotene. This is the reason why you need to supplement with these vitamins while you are taking Orlistat. Failing to do so may cause a few complications on your health on prolonged use of Orlistat. It I best to take supplements to prevent further problems.

Thus, if you plan to combine Orlistat with other diet pills like phentermine. There are no indications yet; that will prove that it can be harmful. It is for you discretion to use another diet pill if you want to. Although you can do this, it may be best to consult this first with a good doctor. Taking another diet pill would mean tolerating its side effects as well. It is good if the other diet pill has only 1 or 2 side effects, but if it has a lot; this may really pose a big risk on your part. This is especially if the side effect is twice or thrice the effect of Orlistat. Having a severe case of loose bowel movement will really dehydrate your body. To be safe, consult with a doctor. Hence, if you don’t trust that your diet pill is working for you, it is best to change it.

Remember that losing weight doesn’t happen instantly. It is a continuous and maybe a bit tiring process. There are those who would like to speed this up by going to extreme measures. There is liposuction and other processes that would require surgery. In fact, there is one surgery where-in they will put a substance inside your stomach so that you will feel full most of the time or that your stomach won’t have enough space to take in more food. Time will only tell if this procedure is worth taking.

This is more like having breast implants, such as silicone and the like. It seemed good at the time. But for those who had the treatment a long time ago, right now, a majority of them are worrying about leaks and lumps on their breasts. Most of these women developed tumors and breast cancers because of this. It may be good if you had the means and the capacity to afford this king of surgeries. But what if you do not have the money anymore; then you start noticing problems with it after a few years, what would you try to do given that scenario? It may have been invented to enhance your body, but science would still need to go along way to come up with the perfect solutions to most of our problems.

This would go with the reason you would want to lose weight. There are those who are only desperate to lose weight because they would like to look good, like the models you may see on TV. If this is your only reason to lose weight, you need to make a quick reality check. The models you see on TV won’t look like that forever. They also go to painstaking measures just to maintain their figures and have that job. It is all in the mind. If you see yourself beautiful, you will eventually exert an aura that will make you look beautiful. In fact, this will even make you strive harder to lose those extra pounds. With enough motivation, diet and exercise are the only key ingredients you need to really lose weight.

Of course, with obesity come problems pertaining to your health. This would be cases of high blood pressure, or serious heart conditions. If this is your reason why you would like to lose weight, then go for it. It is your health that is at stake. Although Alli is an over-the-counter regimen, it is really advisable to consult with a doctor. A nutritionist will also help you by giving you pointers and tips on your diet. He or she will tell you the best breakfast, lunch or dinner recipe; as you go about your goal to lose weight.

For the side effects, most people learned to deal with these accordingly. As long as it is not as serious as having cancer or a heart attack, you will learn to adapt to the conditions. With regards to Alli’s side effects, other users of Alli learned that by lessening their fat intake, they are able to resolve the loose bowel side effect. For the oily spotting it may leave on your undergarments, you start using some pads or panty shields; while you are using Alli. For the farting sessions, well, reducing your intake of foods that will cause gas in your stomach is really the thing to do. All these would simply show that the effort you will undertake, in order to lose weight; is now more of like a lifestyle you have to live through. As these things become a routine for you, you will learn to develop an attachment to this way of life. Hence, exercise and a good diet; getting rid of the vices you may have, will all result to a positive lifestyle worth taking.

Since Alli is the reduced portion of Xenical, its dosage is not as strong. There are people who try to double and triple the intake of Alli just to have it comparable to Xenical. Although there are still no indications that doing this can be harmful to your system, Alli is simply manufactured as a reduced version for a reason. Of course, if you double the dosage, you double its effect; but it also doubles the side effect. All the more if you try to triplicate it.
