I have quite a varied diet. I would avoid processed foods, pies, quiches and processed meats but eat any lean fresh meat is fine (a portion would be about 4-6oz max). I buy 'healthy eating' meats with visible fat removed. Any fish and seafood is fine but take care with salmon and mackerel, they are surprisingly high in fat a small portion served with vegs will be fine. Use low fat diary products and even then limited the amount of cheese to say 1oz.
Even though the guidelines say to avoid anything where fat is more than 30% of calories there are some things that I still have that are much higher in fat but in small quantities. For example I still cook with small amounts of olive oil. Or will have a tablespoon of peanut butter on a slice of toast. I find that if I go too low on the fats I get constipated so I do think a certain level of fat is essential.
