Taking double doses?

I think I read someone say something about taking a double dose of Alli, instead of the regular dose. Does anyone do that? Is it cheaper than taking Xenical?

I don't know if it is cheaper, but if you take a double dose you should be under a doctor's care, just as you would be if you were taking xenical.

I think it's a really bad idea. You could really mess yourself up doing that.

There are some posts here about taking less, which I don't understand, but that would probably just slow your weight loss. Taking a dose that normally requires a doctor's supervision without seeing a doctor could be dangerous. It's not like taking an extra aspirin, you know, a drug that has been out and abused forever.

I've thought about doing that. I am going to try it and report back.

Xenical was 120 mg a DAY, not a MEAL.

I would not double up n alli. You will end up taking way more than the recommended amount.

Smile It is ok......

I have actually discussed this with my doctor. He recommended if I have an extra fatty meal once in a awhile to double up on the pills

I have done it numerous times without a problem. You have the treatment effects, but they are never that bad -- for me anyway

double doses

As a prescribed medication, orlistate was ordered in 120mg doses while the otc version,Alli is 60mg. I think taking 2 alli should be perfectly safe, equalling it to the original prescribed dosage.

Just to clarify Xenical is 120mg of orlistat per dose (3 times a day), therefore it is the equivalent of two Alli. As others have said though this is under doctor's supervision.
