Jump Rope

Has anyone ever jumped rope for exercise? I hear that jumping rope is a very good exercise. I don't think I could jump up and down so much, though. I think I would get too tired too quickly.

I haven't jumper rope since I was a child, and I don't plan to start now. I think it is a good exercise if you are already fairly fit, but not so good if you are overweight. Landing hard on your feet is not a good idea when you weigh a lot.

Isn't jumping rope what super-fit boxers do after twenty miles of road work or something?

I think boxers jump rope, but I don't know what they do beforehand.

I think jump rope would be good exercise if only I could do it longer.

Boxers jump rope primarily because it is a very good aerobic exercise and it combines body movement with hand movement. That is a rather critical combination of skills for a boxer.
