You must eat fat with alli!

I just read that you are not supposed to take alli if you don't have any fat in your meal. So apparently if I have a nice, low-calorie salad with fat-free dressing, I should skip my pill.

Yep, looks like that's correct, from the consumer info:

"If you skip a meal or you eat a meal that does not contain any fat, skip your alli dose for that meal."

Smile True

That is true if you have a fat free there is no need to take a pill. This is also good because you can save money that way.

The thing is, its very rare to have a completely fat free meal, yet 15gm of fat is quite high, so if I have a meal with for example 5-8 gm of fat, then what should I do? Its tricky!

My breakfast and lunch are usually only 4-6 grams of fat each but I still take the medication.

Thanks for the great information. I was wondering the same thing, because some of my meals aren't really that high in fat, so I worried about taking the pill.

I take orlistat which is the prescription version of alli and have been taking it only with my dinner. I've lost 18 lbs since October using a low fat diet and adding a bit of exercise. I found that three times a day was too much for me and did result in a lot of gas so I cut back.
