What are the major side effects?

What are the most major side effects you've noticed since you started taking Alli? Did you know that Alli had those side effects before you started? Do you mind the side effects or do you think it is worth it?

The most major side effect appears to be loose stool and other bowel problems. Although, there may be major side effects that are dangerous for people with preexisting medical conditions.

Talking Side Effects

I am thinking about starting Alli, but the side effects are giving me pause.

Can anyone tell me how long the side effects last? I am really worried about the loose stool, is this just a one time thing of getting to the bathroom in time or does it last all day?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I have been taking Alli for four days, one pill three times a day. So far I have experienced orange oil stools when I have to go to the bathroom, but no loose stools, or uncontrollable stools. However my Aunt stayed in the bathroom and even messed her pants and did not even feel it due to the oily substance (fat) that comes out. I guess it just depends on the person. So far so good for me, I'll let you know if that changes.

Had an Accident at Work

Hey all, I have been taking Alli for a week now. I had the orange oily stools all along, but today I had gas, I thought, but ending up messing my pants and could not control it. I had to leave work, come home shower, and go back to work. I'm not sure if losing the weight is worth this or not. I was so embarrassed. Luckily I had a coat to wrap around my waist, but people still knew I left and came back.

Oily Fart is on a distinguished road

Ha ha!!! sorry to laugh, but I can see the situation and how uncomfortable it must have been. Imagine how rough it is for me, I am a cable installer and inside other peoples houses all the time. Many times I have had to make a stop outside and go in a plastic bag in the back of my van. Sounds nasty I know, but the alternatives are to use the customers bathroom (yeah right, loud and greasy, not to mention the extra stink) or hold it until I have an accident (again no)

I have only been taking Alli for two days!!! And so far its been bathroom trip to bathroom trip with no "stool" but just orange oily discharge! I did the SAME thing nbcline26! I thought I had to pass gas and all the sudden it was much more than that! Luckly I was home, but it was still embaressing running inside like a mad woman in front of my neighbors and my family. Also it smells like ...sour? I dont know how to describe it but its awfull! I really wish Alli would describe the so called "treatmeant symptoms" in a little more detail. Im actually on my lap top now sitting on the toliet. this is NOT worth it.

Hi all - I'm new here and have just been reading but I wanted to let you know that I've been taking alli for 4 days and have had NO treatment effects (or alli-oops as someone called it). I'm keeping my fat intake to 15-17 grams per meal, so maybe that's it. My sister had tried it and had the TE's pretty bad so stopped doing it. I've lost 3 pounds so far and I'm pretty happy with it, so I think it's definately an individual thing. Hopefully things stay this way. I'm just worried about long-term liver damage. Have there been any updates about this?

I have been taking Alli for 1 week now. I am eating no fat for breakfast and lunch but eat a regular dinner with 2 Alli pills. Prior to starting it I was diagnosed with IBS and was constipated alot - I maybe went once after my coffee in the morning but sometimes 2-3 days with nothing.

Since Alli I go every morning after my coffee - some oily orange or yellow fatty deposits floating around. Sometimes I go 2 or 3 times by noon, often it is only fat. I never feel a true "rush" but sometimes I feel "movement" so I go just in case. Due to other statements on TE's I am careful to NEVER Fart unless I am sitting on the toliet, just in case, but it is often fact that I do fart the fat out.

However after noon I really experience no other TEs.
