Smile Quick Introduction

Hi, I'm Kitty and here because I want to lose weight. I have lost 23lb with a low-fat diet over the last 3 months under doctor's supervision but after my first month my loss has slowed right down (only 2lb in the last month). My doctor offered me Xenical this month and I decided to give it a try. Having read many scare stories I did so with great trepidation but I'm pleased to say its now day 4 and I am experiencing no unpleasant side-effects, can't say I've lost any weight either as I've not got on the scales yet.

I would like to hear from anyone who has been successful taking Orlistat, most of what I have read is scary not encouraging.

Kitty

p.s. I'm in the UK and get Xenical prescribed, so other than the nominal presciption cost (£6.85 around $14) cost is not an issue.

hi kitty

you are lucky at having to pay only 14 dollars for xenical ! i went to the dr for a prescription and it would have cost 248.00 ! so even though alli is still expensive for me that is the one i am going with. good luck to you !! sue

Still going well on the Xenical - I've lost 12lb in nearly 5 weeks for a total of 35lb lost since May. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Kitty

Hi, I've been on Alli for the past 4 weeks and lost 6 lbs. I try to eat a low fat diet and do take supplements like fish oil, flax seed oil, etc. I had been on Xenical when it first came out for approximately 6 months. I didn't encounter any problems and did loose weight at that time.

The first bottle of alli I purchased was about 4 weeks ago and didn't have any side effects other than a bit of oily stools every other day. I did loose 6 lbs, which I think is great. I went ahead and bought another bottle this past Friday at Duane Reed's and started to take them on Saturday (9/8/07). I thought that I was having an allergic reaction to something but I couldn't imagine what to. Yesterday (Sunday), I felt like ants were walking all over me, on my head and inside my ears. I've also noted that my stools don't show any signs of the orangy oil as with the previous bottlle of alli.

My question is, has this happened to anyone else, or just me? I'm also scared that this could be a bad batch or maybe a "faux" alli!

I will not take any tomorrow to see if the heebee jeebees that I'm having subside. If they do subside then I would like to return this batch of alli or have them tested to see if these are the real thing. Right now I'm very worried, I never felt anything like this in my 64 years. I do take medication, but I've been on meds for years, the same meds I'd been on when I was on Xenical (Avapro, Glucophage and I was taking Lipitor which I stopped taking 2weeks ago).

I would appreciate someone getting back to me on this ASAP.

Thanks
