Hello from the UK

Hello everyone
I just thought I would introduce myself to all. I have only been taking Xenical for 5 days - I don't weigh in for another 2 days. Worried it's not working! I have been really quite good and have really cut down the amount I eat as well as been careful that the fat content in any meal is reduced. I am certainly still having some though but not noticed any side effects.
i look forward to hearing all your stories. I have an awful lot of weight to lose - around 8 stones in all!

Hiya i came onto the forum about 2 weeks ago but disappoined that there is not much activity here. I have about 5 st to loose and my first 4.4 lb was recorded at my weigh in yesterday. It is not much but a start. I had really bad side effexts the first week because i didn't "get into it properly" if you know what I mean.

I thought there would be more postings on this forum.

Hello ladies. I pop in here occasionally but as you say there's not a great deal of activity. I'm happy to report that Xenical works if you stick to it and I have lost 8 stone (well actually 7 stone 13.2lbs) as of weigh in last Saturday. I've got 9lbs to lose to get to my GOAL but I may lose a few more to allow some wiggle room. I've been on the Xenical since July 2007.

Hi Hazel

I've just started taking Orlistat and like you was hoping there would be more discussion on this forum. I'm new to this and would appreciate some support . How are you getting on? Like you did, I am struggling in my first week because I'm not really sure what I should be eating and don't want to suffer from side effects.

I knowhow you feel I have come onto this forum loads of time but no one seems to want to post. The best thing to do in your first wek is keep as low fat as you can because the side effects are not nice. (I only have to eat one thing at is even moderate fat and I have it) This really teaches you how to eat low fat I promise. I have been on the tabs 6 weeks now and have lost 1st 8 lbs so far it could have been more but it took me about 3 weeks to adjust my eating. Give me a shout anytime and I will answer as soon as I can if that helps.

Hi Hazel, thanks for the reply. I think I'm going to keep a diary on the site just to keep myself going! How much is low fat then? Do I have to think about grams of fat per meal? 1st 8lbs in 6 weeks is fantastic! I'll be over the moon if I lose anywhere near that amount.

Thanks for your offer of help. I'm sure I'll have loads of questions and you have done really well so you must be doing it right.

I just check the fat grms on packets and tins etc but really try to stay away from fat as much as I can but it is not easy. I try to keep to less than 20 grms of fat in a day for everything i have eaten. goy a little calorie counter book that tell fat grams in the food too that helps a lot.
