MAP Program

The MAP program is run by Roche, and is a support service for those taking Xenical, the main objective of the MAP programme is to provide support and guidance on lifestyle issues – healthy eating, physical exercise, behavioural change, keeping motivated – to assist weight loss and enhance long-term weight maintenance.

People in the UK can call 0800 731 7138 to register. When you call have your box of xenical with you as you have to read them the batch number to qualify for the service. You will recieve in the post:

· MAP welcome starter booklet

· Regular mailings about (healthy eating, keeping active etc.) with practical advice on lifestyle issues.

· Optional follow up phone calls from MAP staff to provide regular support.

· Specific advice on appropriate dietary modification if required.

But the main benefit is you have a freephone number to ask any questions you have about your medication.

There might be similar services in other parts of the world but I am not sure.

Hope this helps someone

Nikki xx

Thanks for the information on MAP. I managed without it for 14 months so I don't suppose I really need it! I'm in the UK too.

Saw my GP this morning who's given me a target of 2.5kg loss this month which I think I will struggle with tbh. The weigh comes off much slower now than it did the first few months.

Thanks for this info. My GP said there was something but didn't give me any details about it.
