First few days

I always said I would never 'do' Xenical due to the side effects but needed help fast. I am a yo yo dieter and have 3 weight losses of 7 stone in my past. But I love my food and eat too much of it!
Anyway I started xenical a few days ago, I have a few queries (my doctor is rubbish!)
Doctor told me to start on one a day and build up slowly to avoid effects. I started on two a day, have a low fat diet. some side effects but no incontinence! Bloating is dreadful though.
I wonder if the side effects are short term for only the start or last throughout duration of taking tablet.
I am only taking two a day, should I be taking three? - I often skip breakfast - do i not need a meal with each tablet? - or would you guys recommend I take it regardless...
also heard of MAP on forums but no idea what this is!
hope you expert users can help with these queries
I want to lose 5 stone 1st may - end September !!!

good luck with it

I have just started takin the tabs, on my 4rth day with them at the mo

I dont know what my weight is, as I told the doctor i didnt want to know.

Iv got a months supply of them, and when I am due another pack will go to the docs and get weighed

Id rather keep track by how my colthes fit me, than get obsessed with weight

fingers crossed!!! as I need to lose about 5 stone all in (put it on in the first 6 months after stopping smoking!!)

Well I'm a veteran so if you've any question I'd be pleased to answer them. I've lost 8 stone in two years, 6.5 of them whilst taking Xenical. I really think Xenical has kept me going further than I would have without it. I'm down to my last few kilos which are very hard as I only lose like .8lb or.6lb or nothing at all most weeks.

Sometimes you just have to tell yourself, no I'm not having it, I'm not giving in. If its the taste of chocolate you want try drinking a Highlights or Options hot chocolate or have something like a Slimfast chocolate shake for lunch.

will have to try that,

i did well all week, cutting down on the fat, hardly any snacking, and let myself have a small bar of choccy last night. but thats me back on the wagon again!! lol

im keeping my meals well under 15g of fat, so fingers crossed iv lost some when i go to docs in 3 weeks.

im not wanting to know what weight i am, till iv lost at least 2 stone!! lol

so doc said he will keep track of it, and just tell me what i lose

hears hoping!!!

thanks for the advice

talk soon

been on these a week now - side effects seem to be lessening. but then i am eating less fat...
the best thing is i can still drink my wine with them - so i dont feel totally excluded from all joys!
historically have suffered from dry skin but this had been fine for past 2 years... but i think resulting from these tablets i have developed really dry skin again and spots here and there verywhere. so bought multivitamins yesterday - hopefully that will replenish whatever it is i am losing!

Lil

Another thing I've thought of that I have for a chocolate fix is one of the frozen Weight Watchers Brownie dessets. These are only 3g of fat and taste lovely.

New and Nervous!

Hi everyone I am so glad i found you all- left the gp's yesterday with very little information - he only prescribed 2 tablets a day for me - i have no idea why- can i ask a couple of questions?

* are the side effects as awful as i have read elsewhere- incontinence???

* how soon did you see results - i have 2-3 stone to lose

* Meal ideas- where can i get guidelines as to what i can or cannot eat?

* whats the best piece of advice you can give me?

looking forward to hearing your advice : )
